Monica Crandall

Was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She earned her Associate’s degree in Studio Arts with a specialization in Glass from Tidewater Community College (TCC) in Norfolk, VA. She combines glass, acrylic paints, and oil pastels with pops of color to achieve her desired imagery. Her work explores positive, lighthearted emotions and personal experiences through various color applications. She depicts insects, indoor settings, people, and items such as playing cards.

Her work has been showcased in various exhibitions such as the Tidewater Community College Student Exhibition at TCC, Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, VA, and aLatte Cafe in Norfolk, VA.

She draws personal inspiration from memories, experiences, natural landscapes, and cityscapes. The work of Claude Monet, particularly his sunset paintings, influences her. Pop art as well as impressionism are styles that she enjoys emulating.
